This uniform is a Sub-Lieutenant's winter dress. It was issued before the Royal Canadian Navy's amalgamation with the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Canadian Army, known from 1968 as the "Canadian Armed Forces". At that time, uniforms were changed to become more common between the forces. Today, the Navy has been restored to its original name. This uniform belonged to Surrey resident Doug Hone, who wore it between 1971-1973 at H.M.C.S. Malahat in Esquimalt.
