Firefighter's turnout gear a) Coat; Double layer; Inside is blue lining with velcro down the front, Outside is tan nomex (non-flammatory material); yellow reflective strips down the front, around each arm by the wrists and around the bottom. With a black corduroy collar. Inside near the collar is "8" marked in red below that is white and red label "July 15, 1986." There are 2 large front packets and one chest pocket on the coar. All have silver snaps with "Body Guard" stamped on them b) pants, tan nomex with 2 reflective yellow strips around the cuffs. The front flap is attached by velcro and there is a leather adjustable strap at the front of the pants with snaps and hooks for waist tightening. The inside lining of the pants is made from soft, blue material. c) Suspenders; red; attaches to pants with leather pieces that then hook onto buttons at the front of the pants. This suit belonged to Lorne Pearson, who was a Surrey Fire Fighter and Fire Chief, as well as a fire fighting historian.
